April 24/23 -White Temple in Chiang Rai

Ever since I saw a picture of this temple, it has been on my bucket list. Enjoy this amazing site!

At the entrance is this guy with 5 eyes
As with the whole place, these railings are made of white plaster (I am assuming) and embedded glass mirror pieces
Each one of those dangly things on this walkways ceiling represents a donation
In this picture it shows heaven on the left with the bridge which you pass over to get to heaven
On the right is the hell and temptations that you have to pass through to get to heaven
These next 4 pictures show hell ….enlarge to see properly

I am guessing to smoking will cause you to burn in hell

    The White Temple is a feast for the eyes. Looks like it is made of sugar the carving is so delicate. WAs definitely a highlight that I thoroughly loved while there. And I agree re prices in India being more affordable than Thailand & Bali.
